FICA verification: which SA bookmakers tell you what they need before they pay you

We checked the help, banking and verification pages of all 19 bookmakers on this site on 2026-08-05. 3 publish enough to plan around. 3 publish nothing readable at all. The rest publish one or two facts.

FICA verification is a legal requirement, so every one of them applies it. The difference is whether they tell you the document list before you deposit, or after you try to withdraw. That difference is the single most common reason a South African betting account stalls.

The scorecard

Rated only on what an anonymous visitor can read on the operator's own site. An operator may still verify you quickly; this measures whether it says so in advance.

Checked anonymously on 2026-08-05 against each operator's own help, banking and verification pages. A rating of "nothing readable" means those pages either did not exist at the conventional paths or rendered no verification content to a visitor who is not logged in. Operators change their help sections without notice.

What FICA asks for, wherever you play

The three documents below are what South African operators commonly request. The exact list is each operator's own decision, which is what the scorecard above is about.

  • Identity

SA ID card, ID book or passport

  • Address

Utility bill or bank statement, usually under 3 months old

  • Payout method

Bank confirmation letter or statement in your own name

The commonly requested set. The exact list is each operator's own decision and is not published per operator on this site, so check the operator's verification page before you start.

The 16 that mostly do not

On these, expect to find the document list only once verification is requested. Complete it on the day you register rather than on the day you want your money.

Why this is worth checking before you deposit, not after

Almost every South African operator lets you deposit and bet immediately and only enforces verification when you first ask to withdraw. The account is not broken at that point; it is unverified. That is why "withdrawal problems" is a heavily searched term for several of these brands.

If you are choosing where to open an account and you expect to withdraw, an operator that publishes its document list is telling you something useful about how it will behave later. The full deposit and withdrawal sequence is here.

15 of the 19 bookmakers on this site carry a commercial link, and this page is not ordered by that. Disclosure.

Where the legal frame comes from

Evidence links are never commercial and carry no tracking. Each date is when the page was last opened and the claim re-read.
