Editorial standards
What this site will not do
Most of the standards below are prohibitions rather than aspirations, because in gambling affiliate publishing the damage is done by what a site is willing to make up.
Never
- An offer figure without a first-party source and a date. If we have not read it on the operator's own page, the field stays empty.
- A fake author. There is no invented reviewer with a stock photograph and a biography. Pages are published by the editorial desk, and where a person is named it is a real one.
- A claim to have tested something we did not test. No payout-speed tests, no withdrawal timing trials, no "we deposited and played" narratives that did not happen.
- Ratings or scores. Removed on 2026-08-05. A score out of ten implies a measurement nobody can reproduce.
- Urgency and pressure. No countdown timers, no "only 3 spots left", no invented expiry dates, no fabricated user counts or social proof.
- Blanket legal claims. We do not write that "online casino is legal in South Africa". The National Gambling Board distinguishes betting through locally licensed bookmakers from interactive casino-style gambling, and a bookmaker licence is not product approval for everything on the operator's site.
- Offshore or unlicensed operators as recommendations. An operator with no readable South African licence gets no commercial link here, whatever it offers.
- Language that frames gambling as income. No guaranteed returns, no risk-free framing, no systems, no debt solutions.
- Structured data that exceeds the visible page. No rating markup without a rating, no review markup without a review.
Always
- Commercial links marked as commercial, in the visible page and in the HTML.
- The 18+ notice and the NRGP helpline on every page, including this one.
- A source list with publisher, date last opened, and the claim each source supports.
- The gap stated where evidence is missing, rather than filled with something plausible.
- Operator-reported activity labelled as an operator claim. A returned click identifier proves attribution; it does not prove a signup, a deposit, wagering, revenue or commission was reported honestly.
Dates
A visible date changes only when the underlying content changed materially. Dates are not refreshed across the site to make pages look current, and a source's date is the day that source was last opened rather than the day the page was edited.
Corrections
Errors are corrected in place and the correction is recorded rather than quietly overwritten. If a figure, licence detail or legal statement here is wrong, tell us and it will be removed or sourced. Removal is the default while a claim is unresolved.
