Corrections
Reporting something wrong here
Email corrections@firstdeposit.co.za with the page and what is wrong. While a claim is disputed and unresolved, the default is to remove it rather than defend it.
Operators are welcome to use this route too. If a licence detail, legal entity or offer description on your page is out of date, send the first-party URL and it will be re-read.
What happens to a report
- The claim is traced to the source it was published from.
- If the source no longer supports it, the claim is removed or replaced, and the source date is updated to the day it was re-read.
- If no source supports it at all, the claim is removed. It is not softened with a hedge and left in place.
- Material corrections are recorded below.
Corrections made
- 2026-08-06, 10bet. The licence number published here was wrong. This site said “Mpumalanga bookmaker licence 30003”, read on 2026-05-16 off a licence certificate image in the 10bet media library. That image now returns 404, and the number 10bet publishes in its own footer is 9-2-1-09661. The wrong number was on this page for twelve weeks. The source that carried it has been deleted and replaced with the operator footer.
- 2026-08-06, Playabets. The licensed entity was named as “Playabets (Pty) Ltd”. The bookmaker licence in the Playabets footer names Playabets MP (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2022/712478/07, licensed to conduct bookmaking under the name PLAYA. The licence document was read this time rather than cited unopened.
- 2026-08-06, JackpotCity. This site named no South African regulator and no licence number for JackpotCity, and identified the operator only as “the Bayton Limited group”. Its own footer names Eastern Dawn Sports (Pty) Ltd (2021/915692/07) under Mpumalanga bookmaker licence 9-2-1-09658. That is the same entity and the same licence that runs Betway South Africa.
- 2026-08-06, four dead sources removed. Every URL cited on this site was re-opened. The Mpumalanga regulator link pointed at a domain that no longer exists, the 10bet licence image returns 404, the Hollywoodbets terms page now redirects to its home page, and two Betway pages answer with the operator’s own not-found body. Each claim was re-sourced to a page that answers, or removed.
- 2026-08-05, site-wide. Operator scores out of ten were removed from every page. They presented editorial judgement as measurement and could not be reproduced by a reader. Nothing replaced them; the underlying licence evidence is now shown directly instead.
- 2026-08-05, site-wide. Pages asserting an editorial position on casino RTP, volatility and how to play casino games were retired. They made confident general claims that no source on this site supported, and they answered questions nobody in South Africa was measured asking.
- 2026-08-05, operator pages. Sign-up offer amounts that could not be traced to a first-party operator page on a recorded date were removed rather than carried forward. Ten of the thirteen operator pages now publish no offer figure for this reason.
- 2026-08-05, ZARbet. A second tracked route to the same operator was removed. One operator gets one route on this site and its partner sites; two split the reporting and make per-page attribution impossible.
What is not a correction
An operator asking for a better description, a higher position, or an offer figure to be published without a first-party source is a commercial request rather than a correction, and it is declined. The route for those is partners@firstdeposit.co.za.
