What a hundred free spins is worth

The spin count is the only number in the advert and the least useful one.

A "100 free spins" offer hands you R100 of stakes, not R100. Slot returns vary by game and we have not measured them, so the middle figure is illustrative; the arithmetic that matters is the last one.

The arithmetic nobody puts in the advert

Take an offer of 100 free spins. If each spin is valued at R1, the total stake being given to you is R100. At a typical slot return, that R100 of stakes might return somewhere near R95 in winnings on average, and those winnings then carry the wagering requirement.

At 30x on R95 of winnings, you would need to stake R2,850 before any of it becomes withdrawable. That is the real shape of a "100 free spins" offer, and it is why the spin count on its own tells you almost nothing.

This is not an argument against taking free spins. It is an argument for reading the spin value and the wagering multiple before deciding what the offer is worth to you.

Advertised spin counts for some brands are unreliable

Certain South African brands attract heavy third-party advertising of specific spin counts that the operator does not appear to publish.
